BPS #016: Inconvenient Back Pain Challenge #1

Hey, what´s up guys! This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back Pain Secrets podcast. Today I am going to talk about my Inconvenient Back Pain Challenges that I get all my back pain clients to go through.

For the past 15 years, I’ve put my back pain clients through 12 inconvenient back pain challenges. Today I will reveal the first of the 12 inconvenient back pain challenges. I want to share these challenges because I know after 15 years of trial and error, that they worked awesome to reduce back pain. But only if you do them of course.

I´ve named them 12 inconvenient back pain challenges because they challenge you to get rid of certain behaviour. Imagine that you have 12 large boulders in your backpack, they’re the cause of your back pain. We’re going to remove them one by one so that your back can function better. If you skip one of those challenges or don’t do them properly, that boulder will stay in your backpack.

Do this to get rid of the first boulder.
You can easily save time, energy and money, and also receive better treatment if you once and for all get your medical history in order, okay? Get a folder and mark it with the title “Back Bible”. Then, take time off work and phone the GP, the orthopedists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, etc. that you’ve previously met with.

Every single one! Ask them to send you a copy of your records, and what they’ve done with your back and the results of the treatments, okay? You’re fully entitled to this according to the Data Protection Act. Don’t forget to ask your GP or the x-ray department to send copies of possible x-rays, surgery records or similar things. Put all these papers in a folder in chronological order. Don’t come up with any excuses! Excuses are one of your problems. Decide to take full responsibility for your back. No one else will. That begins with your “Back Bible”. Prove that you can handle the responsibility.

Thanks, everybody! Oh yeah, and to end with, I learned from someone who actually does podcasts a lot that you should always tell people on your podcast to go and rate your show. So if you like any of what you’ve learned so far, please go back to iTunes and rate it. I would appreciate it. This is still kind of a new project for me, but I’ve noticed that we’re on top. I think we’re 106 of the new and hot podcasts, so we’re rising in the ranks. Thank you, guys! So if you’ve enjoyed this at all, or enjoyed any of them, please go back and leave some feedback. I would really appreciate that. And guys, remember you´re just one step away from healing your back pain.

Twenty years ago I was lucky to survive a serious hockey injury. In a sport where big men zoomaround on hard ice and solid wood sticks are slung furiously, a difficult back injury is what every player fears.
It took a long time for me to climb back to a normal life. But when I did, I was determined to spend the rest of his life helping back pain victims everywhere.
As a physiotherapist and back pain expert I have treated thousands of patients over 20 years, built a respected back pain clinic, created the site BackPainSecrets.Com and authored the book “Back Pain Secrets.”
