BPS #015: Do You Really Want To Get Rid Of Your Back Pain?

Hey, what´s up guys! This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back Pain Secrets podcast. Today I am going to talk about if you really want to get rid of your back pain…

I had a chance to go to lunch today with a guy here in Stockholm, who is also a back pain expert. He´s a really neat guy. It´s funny, because he´s been in Stockholm for about ten years now, and I´ve never bumped into him or met him. It´s always fun when you meet someone who´s in the same business as you yourself, right?

I met him, had lunch with him, and I had a really great time. I had one takeaway at the very end of our conversation that really jumped out to me. He said, “Robin, do you really think the majority of our back pain patients want to get rid of their back pain?” I was about to answer him but he stopped me and said, “Don’t answer until you’ve really thought about it properly. Give yourself a few minutes to think about the question. First, think about what you have to gain when you’re in pain? Isn’t the sympathy and the household work you’re escaping pretty sweet benefits? Do you really want to give this up? You’re the one in charge.” ...

This is Robin Wakeham again, from the “BackPainSecrets” podcast. For me, the weekend just ended. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m rebounding from winter today, and I’m actually wearing shorts to work, so I’m excited.I want to talk about something that’s on my mind a lot. Why are you still experiencing back pain? You have probably read lots of other books or seen many back experts to get rid of your back pain.

It leads us to the obvious question: Why are you still in pain then?Yes, I’m asking you! Why are you still in pain after all of this? It could of course be due to a number of reasons, but after having worked as a back expert for approximately 20 years, I’ve seen one reoccurring cause time and time again with my patients. It’s most likely the same cause that’s behind your back pain too. Instead of telling you right away, I’d like to tell you about a patient.

This is how our first meeting ...

I am working a light night, because sometimes that´s what you´ve got to do. I´m going out of town tomorrow with my family to visit my brother that lives about a 5-hour drive from our home. BPS #012: : How To Eliminate “Time Vampires” In Your Life To Heal Your Backpain…

What’s up guys. This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back Pain Secrets podcast. Today we’re going to talk about How To Eliminate “Time Vampires” In Your Life To Heal Your Backpain…

Hey everyone. This is Robin, and I am actually working very late tonigt. It is almost ten o´clock at night, but I´m working a late night tonight, because sometimes that´s what you´ve got to do. I´m taking my family for a short trip tomorrow so I´m heading out to a late-night session at the office to get some stuff done so I can relax and have some fun with my family for a few days. I´ve been thinking about “time vampires” a lot today. The urban dictionary defines the word “time vampires as: “something or someone who literally sucks your time like a vampire sucks blood.”I am also feeling a bit stressed and irritated because during the last month I have let two “Time Vampire People” Into my life that have made me waste my time, created chaos for me a few of my employees.  First time I meet these two people I could tell that they were professional time vampires and I knew exactly what I needed to do in order not to get sucked into their time-wasting chao ...

BPS #0011: How Breaking Your Email Addiction Can Heal Your Back Pain…

What’s up guys. This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to The Back Pain Secrets Podcast. Today we’re going to talk about: How Breaking Your Email Addiction Can Heal Your Back Pain…Yesterday I talked about Why It Is Important To Set Boundaries To Heal Your Back Pain. A friend of mine who listened to the podcast gave me some good feedback. He told me that it was easy for me to set boundaries who could afford an assistant, that I can send everyone to. But what do the rest of us do that can´t afford an assistant how wants to set up boundaries in our life?It is a valid point and for this reason today I will talk about the number one thing you can do in your life to set boundaries for yourself and the people around you. So, the whole world does not have access to you 24/7. Implementing this “one thing” can significantly reduce your constant feeling of stress and back pain. But only if you implement it and stick to it.Eight years ago, when I still could not afford an assistant a buddy of mine gave me a copy of the book “the four-hour work week” written by Tim Ferris. The book is a best seller and, in the book, Tim gives a lot of good advice on how to set boundaries for yours ...

BPS #010: Why It Is Important To Set Boundaries To Heal Your Back Pain…

What´s up this is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the back pain secrets podcast. Today we are going to talk about Why It Is Important To Set Boundaries To Heal Your Back Pain…

Today I want to talk about something that I find kind of interesting to me.  Monday night, I was working late at my physiotherapy clinic on the computer. I have been working as a physiotherapist and back pain specialist for over 20 years now.

During the first few years I was really struggling to get clients to my new clinic. Over the years my clinic has grown and today I have about 20 physiotherapist that work for me. I still treat clients but the majority of my time is spent on running the clinic, creating back pain content, online courses etc. Besides that, I have my beautiful wife Linda that I have been together with for over 20 years now and or two lovely kids Kelly and James that I want to spend time with.

Over the years as my business has grown and the demands on my time has also increased. I have been forced to create systems to protect my time which is the most valuable thing we have in our life´s

The only people that have direct access ...

BPS #009: When To Have Lumbar Discectomy Surgery…

What’s up guys. This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back Pain Secrets podcast. Today we’re going to talk about When To Have Lumbar Discectomy Surgery…

Today I am going to talk about how you will know if you need lumbar discectomy surgery for your back? There are about 500,000 lumbar discectomies performed annually in the United States every year.  So If you are listening to this right now and are thinking about spinal surgery there is a good chance that lumbar discectomy surgery is the surgery you are considering. Lumbar discectomy means that your spinal surgeon will remove the herniated part of the disc in your lower back in order to heal your back pain.

The spinal discs can rupture and change form, either so that the core leaks out, or that the disc bulges out. In both cases, it can push on nerves and cause pain. Even if a leaking disc sounds serious, it’s not enough to hurt. The nerve root must also be inflamed. We think. In fact, nobody knows for certain why we get herniated or slipped discs or why it hurts. Many have an injured disc without necessarily having pain. An injured disc is most often due to the water content of a dis ...

Hey guys, this episode is short and dirty and you are going to love it ha ha! In this episode you will learn what breathing is and how to perform this 2-minute bathroom breathing exercise in order to heal your stress related back pain.

Okey so what is breathing? Breathing is a basic human function, but not everyone breathes effectively, especially during stressful times. By practicing this 2 minute breathing routing regularly you can heal your stress related back pain.

The reason why I recommend you should do it in the bathroom is: -Everyone visits the bathroom at least 2-3 times a day. -You are by yourself. -You have the time to do it.

Can you perform the breathing exercises in another location of course you can. Guys it is really simple the majority of my back pain clients that have been successful in acquiring this very, very important breathing habit into their life longterm have done it by performing the exercise in the bathroom. BPS #007: Mindset To Successfully Heal Your Back Pain …

What’s up guys. This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back Pain Secrets podcast. Today we’re going to talk about the mindset you have to have to successfully heal your back pain…

Hey guys! Okay, let me start off by saying if you don’t have the mindset that it takes to be successful for healing your back pain, you will not be successful. The mind is your most powerful tool. So there are some really important things that I have learned from healing my own back pain and from helping my clients do the same over the past 20 years. Today I’ll share with you the things that didn’t work, the things that did, and the mindset it took for me and my clients to continue our hard work, which eventually created pain free, strong and healthy backs.

The first thing you must understand in healing your back pain is that it is not instant. It is not something that you start today and it’s magically fixed tomorrow. I wish I had a magic pill or secret technique for cracking your back in a certain way to fix your pain right away but it takes hard work and dedication to make that happen. I need you guys to be disciplined – to have the focus and discipli ...

BPS #006: Weird “80/20” secret to heal your back pain

What’s up guys. This is Robin Wakeham and welcome to the Back-Pain Secrets podcast. Today we’re going to talk about how you can use the weird “80/20” secret to heal your back pain.

So what is the 80/20 principle? The 80/20 principle establishes that a few causes, factors or efforts lead to a majority of the results or rewards. This literally means that 80% of what you achieve, at work for instance, comes from 20% of the time. Accordingly, four fifths of the effort – an overwhelming part – is largely meaningless. This is the opposite of what people expect.”

The feeling that there’s not enough time to do what you want is so common that there is a huge market for teaching people how to squeeze in more activities in the same amount of time. But many back-pain sufferers forget that they don’t actually want to do everything they’re busy doing now. This is why they’re stuck in various time planning systems or walk around feeling stressed without being satisfied with what they’re getting out of life.

The solution is based on the following two principles.

1. Identify what’s important in your life

2. Get ...
